The 3rd annual House Party, A Party with a Purpose is being held September 5th at the Greater Michigan Construction Academy.
This party is more than a fundraiser; it is a collaboration between Midland County Habitat for Humanity (MCHFH) and the Greater Michigan Construction Academy (GMCA).
GMCA facilitates opportunities for career growth in the construction industry through continuing education programs. Starting in 2017 MCHFH and GMCA partnered to build affordable housing. MCHFH places two steel beams at the GMCA facility and provides the materials for the home to be built. GMCA provides the student labor to construct the home which also allows their students to gain hands on experience. Once the house is framed, sided, and rough plumbed, it is moved to location and completed by Habitat volunteers.
Together these organizations are collaborating to raise funds for a new, single family home to be built in the Midland community. Join us in building homes, community and hope in Midland County.
The event has raffles, a silent auction, dinner by Flying Trout Catering and a guest bartender competition. The bartenders are competing to see who can generate the most tips. The tips willl go toward the GMCA student house build.
Dan Murphy, Carrie Postma and Dan Reimer are competing to see if they can raise more funds than the other bartenders. Help them raise money for affordable housing.
Help Dan, Carrie and Dan win the competition by donating!
